There's a lot of dancing going on.
First, another season of Dancing with the Stars has begun. Not my absolute favorite reality tv show, but I enjoy watching it when I can. For the record, I'm rooting for Shannen Doherty, as I was the biggest 90210 fan ever. That, and the fact that I can so relate to her fear of being in front of a live audience (see this post).
Second, last Friday, my son attended his first official teen dance. Not only is this another sign that my baby boy is growing up (OK, has grown up - he's taller than I am) but it brings back memories of when I used to attend dances at that same roller skating rink. Talk about scary. Yes, my son may be growing up, but worse, it is yet another confirmation that I am growing old.
Over on the ACFW loop, there's a discussion going on about plots that dance. I think this is such a cool topic! I'll go one step beyond "plot" to say "novels that dance." The question is, what makes a novel dance? Compelling characters? Wild twists the whole way through? One largely unexpected turn of events? A smooth and graceful page turner?
Thinking about your own work in progress, what type of dance would you say your plot resembles? The Salsa? Rumba? Waltz? Charleston? Hip-hop? Break dancing? Ballet?

Mine's a bit of a wall flower at the moment, but she's just waiting for the right moment to boogie her way onto the dance floor.
I'll fight you for the 90210 biggest fan award! Love that show! The new one, not so much - but that's probably a sign that I'm growing old too, sigh.

I've no clue really...maybe interpretive dance because there's a range of emotions that can be accessed--calm and introspective, but also moments that are completely opposite of that too.
I like this thought. Hmm--I hope mine is twisting all over the place:) I don't want it to be a slow waltz for sure.
