Thankful for the Web

So with Thanksgiving only a few days away, what could be more appropriate to post on my writing blog than the websites I'm thankful for? I have passed most of these links on to friends at some point and want to post them publically for you to benefit from, as well. So here's a list. This isn't a complete list, but it does include some of my regular favorites.

ACFW - this is a no-brainer. If you're a Christian fiction writer, published or non, there is no better place to grease your writing wheels (not to mention rub shoulders with some of your favorite Christian authors!)

FaithWriters - this is the site that re-jumped my writing career. I attribute all of the success I've been blessed with over the past four years to FaithWriters. The weekly Writing Challenge, great resources and a genuine and fun group of writers (of ALL writing levels) makes FaithWriters the home for Chritian writers.

Christian Fiction Online Magazine - This monthly publication is packed full of awesome articles, writing how-to and inside scoop on the publishing industry. Contributing authors include Cara Putnam, Kristin Billerbeck, Brandilyn Collins, and many more familiar names. Check out this online magazine, started and headed by Edgy Christian Fiction Author, Michelle Sutton.

Pix-n-Pens - This site belongs to my friend and author, Tracy Ruckman, who combines her love of writing with her passion for photography. She loves to showcase writers and photographers, so I encourage you to head on over and pay Tracy a visit.

Stuart Market Blog - If you're a Christian writer, chances are you know the name of Sally Stuart. Sally's annual book, Christian Writers' Market is a must-have for all Christian freelance writers and/or authors. In her blog, Sally keeps us informed and updated on publishing and market changes and additions.

WOW! Women on Writing - OK...this isn't just because I have an article posted on their site this month (plug), but it sort of is. It just goes to show how willing WOW! is to work with non-famous writers. In addition to great writing articles (like mine! hee hee...), WOW! offers quarterly flash fiction contests, excellent resources and so much more. Now get over there and check out my article! I mean, the website!

Chip MacGregor.com - Chip MacGregor is a self-proclaimed "book guy" with extensive knowledge and expertise about every aspect of the publishing industry. A literary agent, Chip has a blog on which he answers pressing questions every author is dying to know. And he answers every one with grace, honesty, and humor.

Ann Wayman, Freelance Writer - Attention freelance writers - Ann knows her stuff! Click on over to her site and sign up for Ann's regular newsletter (2 to 3 per week) which include tons of links to potential writing opportunities.

Authors often have excellent resources and advice on their websites or blogs, many of them focused specially on new authors. Here are some of my favorites:

*Girls Write Out - A blog featuring Colleen Coble, Kristin Billerbeck, Denise Hunter, and Diann Hunt

* Camy Tang

*Julie Carobini

**Terri Blackstock

*Janice Thompson

Amen and YAY for the web, if it weren't for the web, how would we writers have any social life at all. You are a blessing, Lynda, I'm thankful for you and your beautifully pink blog. : )
