FictionFinder.com

There was an exciting announcment made at the ACFW conference. I didn't mention it before because it really deserves it's own blog post.

A new website has been launched that will connect readers and Christian fiction in a new way. A wonderful way! It's called FictionFinder.com.

Here's what ACFW says about Fiction Finder:

Fiction Finder is an easy-access resource where you can find the latest in Christian fiction or that book you read 15 years ago and would like to find again. Explore the database and you justmight find a new favorite author or a current favorite's book you didn't know she'd written. Through our advanced search, you can search for books based on issue, setting, and levels of suspense, romance and so much more. Use this site to hone in on novels that appeal to you. If you like what you see, register for free at www.fictionfinder.com. Then the site can remember your settings to make return visits simple.

Seriously, you guys, this site rocks! You can search for books by genre, target audience (Children, Yound Adult, Women, Men, or General), or publication date. You can search for your favorite author (their picture profiles are posted alphabetically, along with the books they have written. And on top of that, you are able to see, at a glance, how much violence, suspense, romance, mystery, humor, spirituality, conflict, sensuality, and language is included in the book. These categories are rated with 1 - 10 dots. The more dots, the more of that particular element the book contains.

It's so cool!

Fiction Finder is in the early stages, and authors are still in the process of uploading their information for you. But there are plenty to get you started. This is an exciting resource for authors and readers. What an awesome way for authors to connect with their audience.

I hope you'll check it out and post your thoughts here.

Have fun!

Fictionfind.com is such an awesome idea, and yet another great value the ACFW offers. I love being a part of this fabulous group. I'm so glad I read your post, Lynda, because I had completely forgotten all about the new website since Cara annouced the launch at the conference. I'll definitely check it out.
