You're Invited to come through The Barn Door

So did you see the new button I added to the sidebar this week? It's the same one that's posted to the left. The one that says THE BARN DOOR. Yes, that one. Pretty cool, right? Since I know you're dying to know what it's all about, let me tell you.

I have the privilege of being a regular contributor to The Barn Door, a new blog that starts up on Monday. The Barn Door is the brain-child of author Lisa Lickel, who is from rural Wisconsin. She wanted to create a blog specifically for midwesterners. This isn't a blog about writing (although you may find some writing-related posts along the way) but more about life in the midwest. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays you'll find Author Spotlights, which will be a lot of fun and might even include a book giveaway now and then.

I am so excited to be among the awesome group of writers who will be contributing to The Barn Door. Each brings something unique and interesting to this blog. We have a dairy farmer's wife, a homeschool mom, two midwestern transplants from the East and the West Coast, a small town girl, and a few other fresh midwestern perspectives.

Then there's me. I don't live on a farm, or even in the country. But the thing I love most about living in the midwest is experiencing the vividness and distinctness of each season. On the first and third Thursday of every month, I will offer my thoughts on Michigan's changing seasons and how they compare to the various seasons of our lives.

If you live in the midwest or just want a taste of midwestern life, I invite you to join me at The Barn Door. Tell your friends, too! And be sure to subscribe so you don't miss anything!

Hope to see you there!

I love the concept and can't wait to read it. One confusing thing is people refer to where I live as the mid west, and I just don't see it, I always think of Indiana, Wisconsin, etc...as midwest.

I'll see if I can throw the barn door button on my bloggy friends page.

Great news Lynda!

What a great idea! Of course, I would expect nothing less from Lisa Lickel! I'd love to contribute one day soon -- there's so many good things about living in the midwest. For one...no hurricanes!
