Cari has written for a few magazines (one of her non-fiction articles was published in Woman's World a few months ago) but she mainly writes for children. She has recently finished a children's book titled "The Angel Kiss" about a little girl with a haemangioma. This book is backed by a doctor and Cari is actively seeking a publisher. Last year, Cari submitted a short story to the Highlights Foundation, which won her a scholarship to the Highlights national Writers Workshop in Chautauqua, New York.
But, although Cari is definitely a talented writer, her passion is photography. She's won several awards for her photos, including first place for the 2010 Great Lakes Forever Photo Contest (amateur category) and second place plus an honorable mention in the Writers' Journal magazine contest. One of her photos was also featured in Best of Photography (2009). Her expertise is nature and wildlife.
Cari also does portrait photography. She took our family photos in the fall and we love them! She also has done many senior pictures (she'll be doing my son's this summer) and baby photos. UPCOMING EVENT: Cari's photos will be showcased at the Grand Rapids Schuler Books (28th Street S.E.) during the months of March and April. She'd love for you to come and check out her display!Another cool note...Cari will be taking headshots at this year's FaithWriters conference in August.
