EXCITING NEWS!

GUESS WHAT?

ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?

I JUST GOT A BOOK CONTRACT!

April fools...

Okay, that was mean. Especially to myself. I am now reminded that I do NOT have a book contract. Not that I would actually forget that fact, but reminding myself in big blue letters has a way of putting a damper on my day. And it's only seven o'clock in the morning.

Sigh...

I guess I'm the one who is feeling foolish today.

Time to turn my energies towards the kids. It's the first day of Spring Break and they're sleeping in. Maybe I'll go wake them up in a frenzy, telling them they're late for school. Mean, I know. But they still got to sleep two hours longer than they do on a real school day. And hey, April Fool's Day only comes once a year.

What about you? Feeling like a prankster today? Do you expect anyone to pull one over on you?

What's the best joke you've ever played on someone or had played on you?

Ooh, I forgot about being an April Fool! I came rushing over when I saw the magic words - 'book contract.' Meanie. You got me!

Best prank played on me: Do you remember the rapture hoax in 1988, in which a prominent minister was predicting that Jesus was going to return on a certain day that year? Well, on the "appointed" day, my dad left his clothes crumpled up on his chair, his Bible open and breakfast left untouched at the kitchen table where my brother and I always found him reading every morning. It looked as if he'd been lifted out of his clothes and vanished. My brother went berserk, saying, "It's true! It's true! We've been left behind!" I answered, "Obviously it's not true, because I'm still here." ;) Dad was hiding around the corner trying not to laugh too loud.

You stinker, Lynda! Well...this joke won't work next year because I'm believing you having a book contract will be a real deal.

That was pretty mean, Lynda. Humph. Here I was all ready to cheer with you... now I'm ready to wallop you on the shoulder :)

Then again waking up your kids bright and early to trick them sounds like a grand idea! Go for it (just don't tell them you got a book deal while you're at it!)

Lynda!!! I was squeeing before I even read your post. Not fair! :-)

My worst prank was telling Hubby I was pregnant...some people have no sense of humor on April 1.

When my nephew was born on April 1, no one would believe my brother when he called the family. We had to hear my nephew cry in order to believe it.

Thanks, Julie. :-)

Well, waking my kids up flew out the window. My son had two friends spend the night and they got up at 6:30 to play video games. A chance to sleep in and they choose video games? Silly boys.

LoL, Lisa. Yeah, I guess I can understand the lack of sense of humor at the pregnancy thing. Now THAT was mean. Your poor hubby. LoL

Hi Lynda. I was just getting ready to say, CONGRATULATIONS. Well, congrats on fooling us! hee hee

One of the best (or worst) tricks I ever played was putting salt in the sugar bowl, when I was a kid. My father did NOT appreciate it. We also put something that turned his soap black. That poor man. I miss him! Take care, Lynda. Susan

HI Lynda,

Good Joke sorry it isn't true. We actually got our bosses today at work. We all wore the same color and didn't tell them. Sounds silly I know, but our running joke around here is how much we all dress alike. :-)

You made me GASP, Lynda! So loud EVERYONE asked me what was wrong. You are a MEAN one! Praying you'll have one VERY soon.

Can't think of any good pranks. But I'm going on reduced sleep. Had to take Annika to the ER (high fever) - but she's fine now.

My friend insisted I drive on the toll road, that we could pay at the booth. A booth never appeared, so I reminded her I would get a ticket She said fine, I'll pay for it since this was my fault. when I got the ticket, I told her It was $250.00...(It was only $10.00). She was so upset, ready to call her congressman...I really had her going though...It was fun. You Will have some exciting news for real someday Lynda! CV
