Update, Facebook, and Name Change...Oh, My!

Brief update on Mind over Madi

So my edited manuscipt is now in the hands of my editor (have to insert here how cool it feels to say "my editor"). It was a lot of work to put everything together. Besides the latest updated version of Mind over Madi, I also had to include the dedication, acknowledgements, author bio, links to cover ideas, and summaries for the second and third potential books in the series. I also included a list of four published authors who have agreed to endorse my book (if they like it, that is--which I believe they will :-)). I'm excited and honored to have four fabulous authors in my corner!

Now that I have submitted everything to my editor, I am feeling relieved and a little nervous, too. Will my manuscript come back with loads of suggestions and edits? I guess I'll find out. Not that I mind edits. I am all for doing everything I can to make my work the best it can be. Listening to someone (my editor) who knows what works and what doesn't is the best way to do that.

I still don't have a release date or anything, but as soon as I do, you guys (and my Facebook friends) will be the first to know.

Speaking of Facebook...

I've  created a Facebook Author Page. I'd love for your to LIKE me! Here's the link to MY PAGE. Feel free to share it with the world.

What's in a name?

Well, if you clicked on my Facebook link, you'll see that I've added a little something to my name. I have been going back and forth about what name to use as an author. Keeping my last name is pretty much a given, since I have so much published under Lynda Schab already and people know me by that name. However, I have decided to add my middle name. Just sounds better, in my humble opinion. So I will now be going by LYNDA LEE SCHAB. I'd love to know what you think about that (if anything).

So while I'm waiting to hear back from my editor, and in between working my "day job," I'll focus on writing my monthly book reviews (4 good ones this month!) and try to get a little more written in the second installment of Madi's story, Madily in Love, which I'm really geeked about.

Oh - and I'm trying to take some time to enjoy this beautiful summer weather. It will be gone before we know it!

I'm so excited for you, Lynda. I like your full name... I can see it printed out on a book. Something about the length makes it look more eye-catching to me...or more syllables?

You mentioned how you write book reviews and I've read a lot of them on here. Just wondering - do you write them for pay? Or just because you enjoy them? I've posted a few on my blog and enjoyed writing one just yesterday, so it made me wonder about markets for those... just curious.

Hope they don't change your book title because I think it is perfect! - Pam D.

Thanks, Pam. Yes, I was blessed to land a paying gig for writing reviews and I love it. No worries about changing the title of my book - at least, not the first one. Not sure about the subsequent titles, but I think the second one is pretty secure, too. :-)

Thanks for stopping by. Hope everything's well with you!

I like your middle name. It flows nicely. :)

I love the titles. Madily in Love. That's awesome. Sounds fun too!

Sooo excited for you - especially that you have "my editor" to talk about. SOOOO awesome! Can't wait to get my hands on the book (and walk up to you at a local signing and surprise you LOL - whenever that may be!)

When I saw your post title I was afraid you were going to be changing the title of your book and I so love what you have picked. It has a ring to it but is also a little mysterious, making me anxious to know what's between the covers. It is exciting, isn't it!
