Subscriber Monday!

So who is taking advantage of CYBER MONDAY and all the great deals that come with it? Strangely, I had never heard of Cyber Monday, even though the term has supposedly been around since 2005 and I have been online for a lot longer than that! Guess I wasn't paying attention! Or maybe Cyber Monday is just getting more press these days. Regardless, it's fun, isn't it? Any excuse to shop works for me!

Three days ago on Black Friday, my friend, Julie Arduini, featured a poem on her blog that I wrote last year about the ominous Friday Shoppy Frenzy. Oddly, even never having heard of Cyber Monday, it ties in. Here's the link if you'd like to read it: TWAS THE MORN AFTER THANKSGIVING.

Anyway, just now, as I was finishing up my order with Amazon.com, I realized it has been a whole week since I've posted and started thinking about how I could tie in Cyber Monday with my blog. Well, as you can see from my title, I've come up with something.

Today, on my blog anyway, it's SUBSCRIBER MONDAY!

What exactly IS Subscriber Monday? I'm glad you asked.

I would like to give something back to you for reading my blog. Many of you regularly visit and spend your precious and valuable time reading my ramblings and sometimes even commenting! This makes me feel special, so I want to do something special for you. Well, ONE of you, anyway.

All you need to do is post a comment, telling me how wonderful I am. Then, in one week (December 8), I will randomly select one person to receive a $15 Amazon.com gift card. If you can't think of any ways I'm wonderful, feel free to say it's because I'm giving away a $15 Amazon.com gift card. And no, you don't actually have to BE a subscriber to enter. Visitor Monday just doesn't have the same ring to it, you know?

And that's all there is to it!

Seriously, THANK YOU for joining me on my track to publication. I DO appreciate you! I know $15 isn't much, but it should at least buy you a book. Who knows? Next year it may even be MY book!

Stay tuned...

Lynda.... you don't need to bribe us to say something nice about you! You have to know we love you and are eagerly waiting to purchase any book you write!

But... since you are giving out a gift card.. umm.. well... you can enter my name too ;-)

You're so funny! And I agree w/ Shirley - bribery not needed. Though if I were to be honest, Amazon is like the motherland to me! :-)

I agree with Shirley, you really don't need to bribe us, however, since you insist...

I've really enjoyed knowing you, through facebook, FaithWriters and your blog

Hi Lynda, This is actually the first time I have been on your blog. Was quite curious about the status that you posted on facebook and thought I would check it out. As for saying something nice about you....it has truly been a long time since you and I have spoke or seen each other, but I would like to share that I have always admired you for your ambition in writing. I shared that interest with you a long time ago, but have never acted on it. It takes a lot of time and patience in writing and I am sure that is something that you are better at then I am. You are someone I look up to and someday when I have less distractions around me, will call you for advise. Because by that time, you will have several books published and you will be able to share all your knowledge with those of us who are wanting to aspire & follow your path.

You are just too funny. Visitor Monday sounds like the title of a book.

I AM SURPRISED AT YOU TRYING TO BRIBE US WHEN YOU ALREADY GIFT US WITH WORDS! I WANT THE BOOK!!!!!!!

Hi Lynda! I think you just rock. When I look at you and all that you have accomplished, I'm just amazed. You make me want to keep writing and keep learning. Because you're willing to share the tricks of the trade (thank you so much for all those helpful websites) it makes it much easier to form a game plan to get that first toe in the door. Thanks for all that you do for so many of us at Faithwriters and beyond. You are a gift.

OK, guys, seriously - enough! I was kidding about heaping on the praises. Now I'm all choked up. What an amazing group of friends God has given me. Love you all!
And good luck to all of you for that Amazon gift card!

Lynda,

As Charlie Chaplin said, “Failure is unimportant. It takes courage to make a fool of yourself.”

It’s what I like best about you. Heee-heee.

You’re an inspiration to all!

I'd never heard of "Cyber Monday" before this year either. I've been shopping on line for years! Unfortunately, I didn't procrastinate like usual, and I placed my big Amazon order Sunday night. [insert rolling eye smiley here] :)

I finally had time to visit your blog and it's 'Subscriber Monday' Neat! I've never heard if it before but it sounds exciting.

Well, I'm very impressed with your blog. I'm not very good at blogging myself. Where do you find the time? And how did everyone know you had a blog give away?

Love, Chrissy

It's WONDERFUL of you to offer a drawing for people you've never even met - thanks for the opportunity! It's a WONDERFUL treat this time of year!

What a great gesture. I followed the link you posted at ACFW and am so happy that your books are doing well. And I also agree with what posters have said above, you don't need to bribe. While I don't know you personally, I have read many of your posts both here on your blog and at ACFW. Happy Holidays!

Are you kidding? Any amount from Amazon is great. How nice of you to do this.

I've said it before but it's not trite. I really look to you as a mentor, if I have a question or if someone asks me, I point them to you. You have great writing experience and you are just a gem to communicate with.

I really look forward to saying to people I know that famous author!
