Detroit or Bust...

Well, in a couple hours, my friend Cari will pick me up and we'll be headed to Detroit for the FaithWriters conference.

This will be the second official FaithWriters conference. The first was held two years ago - same place, same time. I can't even explain what a wonderful experience that was, or what emotions I experienced while I was there and for many days, following. The teaching was great (Sally Stuart was the keynote speaker) but the fellowship was even better. It was like one big family reunion -meeting face-to-face with friends I had made and connected with online was priceless.

God led me to FaithWriters in 2004. And it is specifically through FaithWriters that God re-jump-started my writing career and opened doors for me that couldn't have been opened any other way. My heart and soul will always be connected to this wonderful site. Read my complete FaithWriters testimony HERE.

SO...it is with great joy and excitement that I go to the conference again this year. I look forward to reconnecting with members I met at the last conference, meeting online friends I've come to know in the past couple years for the first time, and getting to know members whose names are unfamiliar to me. There's nothing quite like being in an atmosphere filled with people who "get me". Especially an atmosphere that's also filled with God's presence. A place where not only writers will be, but the Holy Spirit will be, too.

Of course, I'm also definitely looking forward to the workshops and learning how to improve my craft and coming home to put my newfound knowledge into practice.

For those of you who could not attend the conference this year, you'll be greatly missed! Be sure to come back here next week for a full report.

And for those of you who WILL be there, I'll see you soon!

Enjoy, Lynda! I recall being a member of FaithWriters years ago when I first started out. I never really got beyond signing up for membership. Hope you have a great time.
