FUN HOLIDAY QUESTIONNAIRE:

Favorite Christmas carol: O Holy Night

A family Christmas tradition: waiting until the house is quiet at night, then laying under my Christmas tree after it's decorated and peering up through the branches at the lights and ornaments.

A memorable gift you've given or received: Last year I made my parents "memory books" and I think we all cried! I made scrapbook pages of various memories from my childhood and pictures and stickers to represent each one and put them in an album. They each had their own book. It was a great experience.

Favorite Christmas television show or movie? I can't let the Christmas season go by without watching The Christmas Story! I love the marathon they do on TBS on Christmas Eve. Also, A Chipmunks Christmas is a long time favorite. I get to watch that with my two year old this year and I can't wait!

When do you start your holiday shopping? I typically start around Thanksgiving and buy a few things here and there and finish up the week before Christmas. It just all depends on cash flow and sales. I try not to charge anything each season but stay responsible and use cash only or make homemade gifts, like the memory books.

Ever been kissed under the mistletoe? Yes, actually ::wink::

Do you deck the halls in style or keep it simple? I decorate my house but just the rooms we use the most. I put Christmas towels in the kitchen and guest bathroom, a holiday centerpiece on the table, and decorate the mantle and windowsills in the living room and of course, the tree in the corner. I also put just a few things on my daughter's dresser, like a mini tree and some Christmas children's books. But I don't go crazy because its too much to have to put away afterward!

What food do you overindulge in during the holidays? Desserts! Fudge, my mom's holiday teacake cookies, pie, chocolate covered cherries....mmmm.....

Now for the giveaway! Here's a blurb of Betsy's book, MISTLETOE PRAYERS, which is actually two books in one, written by Betsy St. Amant and Marta Perry.

The Gingerbread Season by Betsy St. Amant:
Allie James returns to her hometown in need of a holiday job. Never did she expect old boyfriend Jordan Walker to hire her as his secretary! Years ago Jordan shredded her heart like wrapping paper. Now he must convince Allie that all he wants for Christmas is her love.

The Bodine Family Christmas by Marta Perry
Left at the altar on Christmas Eve, Annabel Bodine has lost her holiday spirit. When her big brother brings home handsome Coast Guard buddy Travis McCall, can she summon the courage to open her heart to love for the holidays—and maybe for a lifetime?

Enter to win a copy of Mistletoe Prayers by leaving a comment on this blog post. Be sure to leave your contact information so I can get in touch with you if you win.

Contest ends at midnight on Friday, October 22nd. The winner will be announced in a brief post on Saturday.

Another book that intersted me at the store. I love stories set around Christmas, especially when they are not full length since Christmas is such a busy time of the year.
